Dating Service Consumer Bill of Rights
Notice for New York consumers · Effective August 15, 2026
Menu is operated by Menu by me n u, Inc., a Delaware corporation. New York law gives purchasers of dating services specific rights. This notice summarizes the rights applicable to a purchase or renewal. It does not reduce any rights provided by law.
1. Contract limits. The general limits are $1,000 and two years. New York law provides an exception for online dating contracts with initial and renewal terms of one year or less where a higher payment is reasonable in light of the service offered.
2. No required ancillary purchases. You cannot be required to buy related services, such as photography or dating counseling, as a condition of buying the dating service.
3. Referrals and refunds. Online services that offer search or present possible matches are exempt from the specified minimum-number-of-referrals requirement. For a contract costing more than $25, receiving no social referrals for two successive months gives you the statutory cancellation and refund right. Menu waives the cancellation fee for this remedy.
4. Travel distance. The contractual travel-distance requirement has an exception for online dating services generally available regionally, nationally or globally.
5. Moving outside the service area. If you permanently move outside Menu's service area, email meet@reserved.menu to cancel and request a prorated refund of the unused prepaid membership period.
6. Enforcement. You may bring a court action for a violation of the social referral service contract, subject to applicable law.
Three-business-day cancellation
You may cancel without a cancellation fee within three business days after receiving your written contract. Send a signed and dated notice by email to meet@reserved.menu, or by certified or registered mail to Menu by me n u, Inc., 155 Wooster Street, New York, NY 10012. Keep proof of delivery. Payments must be returned within ten business days after receipt of a valid statutory cancellation notice.
Your notice can state: “I cancel my Menu purchase.” Include your name, purchase date, notice date, signature (which may be electronic), and transaction identifier if available. Do not send payment-card details or account passwords.
Membership holds and private information
You may request a hold of up to one year in writing at meet@reserved.menu. A longer hold, up to two years, requires mutual agreement. Menu will handle personal information, required deletion and confirmation in accordance with applicable New York law; a general privacy-policy retention clause does not override those requirements. Transfers of private purchaser information require the consent prescribed by law.
Apple purchases
Manage automatic renewal in Apple's subscription settings. You may request an Apple refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. You may also exercise your statutory cancellation, hold or relocation rights directly with Menu at meet@reserved.menu. Apple's billing process does not reduce your statutory rights.
