Content & providers

Where content in Menu comes from, what information providers receive, and the choices available to you.
Music and artwork from Spotify
Music selections on a profile are chosen by that member. Menu processes your search text and sends it through Menu’s server to Spotify’s public catalog service. Spotify returns song and album information, including artists and artwork addresses. Menu saves the selections you choose with your profile, where members who can view your profile can see them. This feature does not connect your Spotify account or import your Spotify library or listening history.
Spotify supplies the artwork and official embedded player. Menu receives basic player status, such as ready, playing, paused or an error, to display playback controls. Playback availability and preview length depend on Spotify. External Spotify links open Spotify’s own service.
Artwork loads when it is displayed, before you tap playback. Spotify’s image service receives the image request, IP address and standard device/app request information.
Before the first preview, Menu shows a Spotify notice. Choose Play preview to load the player, or Not now to keep browsing without loading it. The notice appears again after Menu goes into the background or you sign out or change accounts. Spotify’s embedded player receives the selected content, network and browser/device information, and playback interactions. The player can send session identifiers, performance and error information to Spotify and its diagnostic provider, Sentry, including when you are signed out of Spotify.
The player uses temporary web storage. This does not prevent providers from receiving or retaining data on their servers. Menu does not attach your Menu account identifier, profile text or messages to artwork or player requests. Spotify describes its own processing and choices in its Privacy Policy and Cookies Policy. Menu’s website advertising switch does not control Spotify’s player, and a Spotify choice made in another browser may not apply inside Menu.
Menu is responsible for the profile selections and searches it processes. Spotify operates its own catalog, artwork and player services under its Developer Terms, Widget Terms and privacy policies. Spotify’s Privacy Policy describes service delivery, analytics, personalization and advertising uses, including sharing with service and advertising partners where applicable. Temporary player storage is not a promise that provider requests are anonymous or that Spotify uses them only for playback.
GIFs from GIPHY
GIPHY supplies GIF search and media in chat. Searches, selected GIFs and interactions are processed by GIPHY to provide and improve its service. Menu stores the GIF reference you send with your message so the recipient can view it. See GIPHY’s Privacy Policy. Attribution and links identify the provider; selecting a GIF does not transfer ownership of it.
Restaurants, maps and reservations
Restaurant information, images, maps, availability and policies may come from restaurants, Apple Maps and the reservation provider identified in the booking flow. Information and availability can change. A dinner request or acceptance is not a confirmed reservation until the provider confirms it.
When you request a supported booking, Menu shares the booking contact and reservation details needed by OpenTable, Resy, Ophelia or the restaurant, as applicable. Provider and restaurant records are governed by their own privacy practices. See OpenTable, Resy, Ophelia and Apple.
Membership purchases and restaurant cards
Menu Reserve and in-app message-credit purchases use Apple’s purchase system. Restaurant guarantees, deposits and cancellation fees are separate and follow the policies shown for that booking.
When Stripe card capture is available for an OpenTable booking, card details you enter in Menu are sent directly from your device to Stripe for tokenization. Menu receives a single-use card token, the last four digits and booking-related authentication results. The token and last four digits are stored in encrypted server records for the booking attempt. Menu’s backend does not receive the full card number or security code. A bank may ask you to authenticate. Menu does not turn this token into a reusable saved card; a later attempt may require fresh card entry. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
Member content and ownership
Members are responsible for the photos, profile text and messages they share and must have the right to share them. Music, artwork, GIFs, restaurant images and third-party names and logos remain the property of their respective owners. Display in Menu does not grant permission to download, republish or use that content in advertising, and does not imply an endorsement by an artist or restaurant.
For a content or rights concern, contact meet@reserved.menu with the location of the content, a description of the concern and a way to reach you. Use the in-app report and block tools for member conduct or safety concerns. Do not email passwords, card details or private messages unrelated to your report.
Your choices
You can remove a music selection in Edit profile; it is removed from your Menu profile when you save the change. Choose Not now in the Spotify notice to keep browsing without loading the player. Artwork still loads when displayed, even if you choose Not now. Removing a selection, stopping playback or deleting your Menu account does not delete information Spotify or its providers independently received. Use Spotify’s privacy request process for that information. Use Your Privacy Choices for Menu website advertising and privacy requests, and the relevant provider’s controls for its service. Read our Privacy Policy for collection, sharing, retention and deletion, and our Terms for use of the service.
